Be Inspired by our 5 Bedroom Ideas!
Spending a third of your life in bed… it is only right that you have a bedroom that is as beautiful as possible!
We have got together 5 bedroom ideas really reflect an individuals style. Why don’t you be as wild and wonderful as you like, create the look that describes you, it is your personal sanctuary after all!
1. Patterns
A way to incorporate patterns into your bedroom is through a feature wall. This way, you can inject a load of pattern without breaking the bank, as wallpaper can be quite expensive. Stripes make all the difference in a small bedroom as this gives an illusion of extra height or width, but one of my favourites and one that is most popular is floral.
You don’t have to stick to the rules… Why not think about using wallpaper in a completely new way by papering the ceiling, be brave! I promise you with the right furniture it will bring the whole look together.
2. Bright and Bold
Make a statement even while you’re sleeping. Choose from big prints, flocked patterns or coloured blocks to create a striking bedroom.
Introduce a prominent colour to go with your colour scheme. Use that as a guide and with colourful bedlinen, furniture and accessories you can really bring your room to life. If you really feel daring, then go that extra bit further and do a wallpapered feature wall. This can overcrowd the room sometimes though so be careful not to overpower the room with too much. Marrying colours together such as blue and pink bring the room alive.
Bold artwork is a must of a bright and bold themed room. This is the focal point! Why not base your whole room around one piece of artwork? Be dramatic, take two colours and don’t be afraid to go with it.
3. Rustic Style
How about a country style/cottage/cabin in the woods type of bedroom?
Rustic bedrooms are incredibly inviting, warm and cosy. This type of bedroom requires a lot of combined textures such as polished walnut, oak, natural linens, woollens, wooden flooring etc. Start with an oversized headboard to anchor the theme. Layer the bed with natural linen bedding then accessorise with knitted throws and cushions to make it look extra cosy. Wood should be the most popular choice of material, mid toned woods work naturally together, oak is one of my favourites. You can turn wooden logs into ceiling beans or into bedframes. One of the mistakes people make with these types of rooms is painting the wood. Never paint it, it takes away its natural organic beauty.
4. Scandinavian
Light, airy, simple and clean.
Scandinavian countries of Norway, Sweden and Denmark – their simple style is popular all over the world. The one thing I love about this theme is the very limited palette. White is very popular, you will find that it extends right down to the flooring, you will also find the palette with touches of grey, black or pastel colours. Although the traditional Scandinavian décor is minimalist in feel, it doesn’t mean there isn’t room for personality! Stick to the limited palette, clean lines but there is nothing stopping you from adding your own personal touch. I thought about adding duck egg blue which when teamed up with certain contrasting colours, it can create a relaxing mood.
5. Hotel Inspired
Ever come back from a great weekend away and wish you had a hotel inspired themed bedroom in your own home?
The secret to why we love hotels is because they are completely clean, spacious and have NO clutter. Is it time for you to have a declutter? Do you really need all those books in your bedroom? All those clothes in storage boxes on top of the wardrobe? Bin it or banish it! Keep your spare clothes in a spare room or somewhere other than your bedroom that you use as a relaxing place. Hotels love a giant headboard, and they are proven to be great especially if you are sitting in bed watching television with your room service meal and wine in front of you.
Symmetry is one of the things I love most about hotel rooms. It all matches and creates a great organisation feel. Get yourself bedside tables and lights that are matching and symmetrical, this creates a calming ambience and the appearance of a hotel room.
