Blue skies? Are they really that important?
I will tell you the short answer first. It is YES.
But why do blue skies really matter?
A blue sky is a symbol of freedom and hope, it promotes the feelings of happiness and it is true, I certainly feel a lot happier in the Spring time and Summer walking with the sun rays down on me. Sunlight has been proven to release high levels of serotonin into the human brain, creating your mood to enhance! It increases people’s mood which in theory gives you more of a chance to get a “Yes” answer.
Applying this theory to the property market, you are more likely to get a viewing booked with a photograph that shows how beautiful the home is in the sunlight, compared to a damp rainy one. Remember that on these busy property portals such as Zoopla and Rightmove a property needs to stand out for the right reasons to entice interest.
If you compare it to when you are online shopping, if the clothing are presented well, it shall be clicked onto as it looks interesting and what you are looking for.
If you compare that to property portals – a question that is always asked “would you like to view this property?” a question far more likely to get a positive response if the potential buyer has seen a photograph that is presentable, (a blue sky as opposed to a grey one.)
Lets test it.
How do these photographs below make you feel when you look at them.
Same property. Photographs taken on different days.
-79 Bryncastell, SOLD.
One is dull and grey which doesn’t show off the property and its full potential.
Is this the main reason why Spring and early Summer are so popular among movers?
