Your Moving Out Checklist!
Follow the guidelines to ensure you receive your full deposit.
At the end of every Alexanders tenancy, we will conduct a move out inspection to ensure that the property has been kept in a good condition. Whilst we take into account any reasonable wear and tear suffered by a property during the course of a tenancy, we do expect properties to be left in a clean and tidy condition, ready for the next tenants to move into.
To help you prepare your property for move out, we have compiled a checklist of necessary jobs for your information. To ensure that you receive your full deposit, you should make sure that you make every effort to follow the guidelines printed below.
ALL items not listed on the Inventory are to be removed from the property at the end of the tenancy. This includes personal belongings, refuse, furniture, food and cleaning products etc.
Please note that we are unable to take possession of any forgotten possessions and these will be removed from the property. An hourly charge of £35.00 per hour (min charge of £35.00) will be levied for removing any item left at the property.
All light bulbs and light fittings should be in good working order, unless previously reported as broken.
There will be a charge of £5 per standard bulb, £20 per energy saving bulb, £10 per shaver light or oven light, and £20 for fluorescent strips plus £25 labour charge if bulbs are not replaced. There will also be a £10 charge for broken starter motors.

KITCHEN:

Fridge/freezer to be de-frosted and thoroughly cleaned | |
Oven and hob to be cleaned and ALL food stains to be removed. Grill pan and shelving to be cleaned. | |
Sink and worktops to be disinfected and cleaned. | |

Mop head, if provided, to be replaced with a new one. (Sponge mops can be purchased from Focus or Ellis’ on Chalybeate Street) | |

If a washing machine has been installed that does not appear on the Inventory it is to be removed and hot/cold water inlets are to be drained. Waste water outlet is to be capped. Any damage caused by the removal will be charged for. Please consult a plumber if necessary; we can recommend a plumber if required. | |
Ironing board cover, if provided, to be replaced where necessary. | |
Flooring to be washed, disinfected and cleaned. | |
Light bulbs and starter motors to be replaced if not working. | |
Clean and dust above kitchen units as well as on work surfaces and shelves | |

LOUNGE:

Sofas to be vacuumed and all stains removed or professionally cleaned if necessary. Clean under sofa cushions. | |
Coffee table must be cleaned. If stained, please contact our offices and we will arrange for it to be sanded and varnished by a suitably qualified person at your expense | |
Skirting boards and electrical sockets to be cleaned and dusted. | |
Carpets to be vacuumed thoroughly. Please contact our office if you require a professional carpet cleaner to remove stains. | |
Clean curtains and re-fit to curtain track. Same applies for net curtains. | |
Lampshades to be cleaned and dusted. |
BATHROOMS:

Protective mattress covers, where provided, to be replaced. These can be purchased from Argos. Please place them on the bed in their original packaging. Mattress covers not kept in their new packaging will be deemed to have been used and a charge will be made for replacement. | |
Bedroom furniture to be cleaned and dusted. This includes cleaning behind small units and inside the drawers and wardrobes. | |
Mirrors, where applicable, to be cleaned thoroughly. | |
